RV Trip USA – Back to Colorado and the Rodeo
Before we returned the RV there was one thing we particularly wanted to see in America and it just so happened to fall on the night before the RV was due back. It was a good old fashion Rodeo (PBR – Professional Bullriders Association) just outside of Denver in a beautiful town called Evergreen. We were were so excited about seeing the bull riding but also the the people too and we certainly were not let down. There were cowboys and cowgirls everywhere which created a really fun and vibrant atmosphere. It was like you see in the movies.
Before the actual Rodeo commenced, a few ceremonies took place which included the singing of the American National Anthem and a tribute to the country. The MC spoke about the Flag and what the stars, stripes and colours symbolises. With hands on our hearts we all stood for the National Anthem and then cheered as loud as possible for the commencement of the first bull ride. It was a really surreal experience. Americans are incredibly patriotic (we feel like there isn’t anything quite like it back home). As much as people were there celebrating a Rodeo, they were also celebrating America and constant commentary referred to the USA as the lucky country throughout the entire evening. They just love the US of A….
Another thing on our agenda was to see a county fair. Luckily for us the fair had come to town with the rodeo. Check out the treats you could buy from the stalls…..
Not only did cowboys ride bulls but also there was also this event called ‘Mutton Bustin’ where kids ride crazy sheep. Its hilarious to watch.
A Rodeo is such a fun day/night out. If you get the chance to see one, you won’t be disappointed.
It was a really good way to cap off our amazing month with our beloved RV. We travelled through so many states of the western half of America and loved ever minute of. We miss that vehicle so so much!!!!!
Check out our gallery for more photos of the Rodeo and stay tuned for some footage of the bull riders that we filmed….
