New York
By the 1st June, 2011, we had been on the road for a total of 15 months. While there were still a few places we both wanted to see together, we decided to take a week apart so that Elissa could meet her Mum in New York (a part of her 60th birthday celebrations) and Pete could search for Tigers…in India.
So here is just a snapshot of our girls trip:

Although a little jetlagged, we ventured out on our first night to The Plaza Food Hall for a glass of Moet and some dinner - a great way to start our trip...
We shopped along 5th Avenue, through Soho and Greenwich Village (there was also a successful day of shopping done at Woodbury Common)…
We had so many delicious lunches and dinners including Salumeria Rossi in the West Village, The River Cafe in Brooklyn, High Tea at The Plaza, Bottega del Vino…

And to take in more of the sights, we enjoyed a dinner aboard the World Yacht Cruise (a birthday gift for Mum from my Aunt)...

Some amazing little cakes were also delivered to the table as a birthday surprise for Mum from The Plaza...
A couple of nights we just had to opt for Room Service as our tired legs just couldn’t get back out there.

We walked through Central Park and onto the Metropolitan Museum to see the Alexander McQueen Exhibition which was amazing (unfortunately no photos allowed).
There was also a quick overnight visit to see our niece/cousin Bridgid, her husband Carl and daughter Mirabel. While we missed the first train, we eventually got there for a beautiful dinner at the Junot home. The following day gave Mum a glimpse of Boston.

After a quick driving tour through the city, coffee on Newbury Street, we sat down to lunch at The Prudential...

Back in New York with one day remaining, we headed straight to ‘Top of the Rock’ at the Rockerfeller Centre, did some last minute shopping and then it was time for Broadway.
Thanks Mum for such a brilliant week. I had so much fun and will have such great memories. xxx
