English Countryside – Brighton, Bath and Beyond….
Brighton is really the closest thing the UK has to a beach. Actually it is a beach but not like we know them. The sand is pebbles and they are large ones at that, but it is a nice coastal town that is worth a visit if you have time to get out of London. It takes an hour and a half by train but the cost of a return train ticket (approx £20 pp) is not much cheaper than hiring a car so if we had our time again we would drive therefore giving us more freedom….
The Brighton Pier is hard to miss. Its a very touristy but worth checking out. We had to have Fish and Chips there and weren’t disppointed… It was very tasty.

Bath is another interesting town not too far outside of London that we recommend visiting. We hired a car and spent the day with friends, Bart and Sarah Calman, driving the 115miles (approx 2.5hours) east to the historic town. Its famous for its Roman Baths, hence the name and seeing these baths is a must.
Just outside the town is an awesome pub called Hare and Hound and we definitely recommend driving up to it (its up on a hill), having a beer and enjoying the view over Bath town.
It was great to catch up with Bart and Sar. We enjoyed speaking of our travels as they too are travelling the world. You can check out their travel blog at: http://sarahandbartescape.travellerspoint.com
Thanks B and S, good luck in South America…
