RV Trip USA – Universal Studios & Disneyland

There is not a lot to say about Universal Studios and Disneyland except that they were two very fun days for us. We went to Universal Studios first and basically spent the day doing every tour, seeing every show and jumping on every ride (more than once). The tour around the Studios is good fun. We got to see the sets for various movies and TV shows such as Jaws, War of the Worlds, Jurassic Park, Wisteria Lane – the set for Desperate Housewives and the list goes on…

Other than that, just walking around checking out The Simpsons site and rides, hanging out with Shrek, Donkey and Princess Fiona is all part of the fun.

The following day we made our way to Disneyland and having wanted to go there since being kids, it certainly didn’t disappoint. There are two separate ‘parks’ on the site – the traditional Disneyland where you can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse, see amazing shows with every Disney character you can think of and enjoy the numerous rides and amusements – good old favourites like Indiana Jones and Space Mountain.

The 2nd park at Disneyland was called California Adventure Park. We saw the musical Aladdin there which was so good for being a 30 minute stage show. The Toy Story ‘ride’ was an interactive virtual ride that people queued for over 45 minutes to ride – worth the wait. It was here that Pete tried his first ever ‘Corndog’ and became a huge fan.

Disneyland is open until midnight. We arrived at 10am that morning and did not leave until the gates closed on us. The most exhausting walk back to our little home on wheels.
